Catherine White is one of the very first CODAs to have brought the term, and with it, a sense of understanding of who we as CODAs are, what we do and why we do what we do. Since coming across the term 'CODA' at a World Federation of the Deaf conference in Finland, 1986, she has been a leader and a role model for her contemporaries and for a new generation of CODAs - especially during a time when the very definition of what it meant to be Deaf was changing so quickly. Catherine has been involved with Coda since 1986 when she first met Lou Fant and Millie Brother at the World Federation of the Deaf Conference in Finland. Catherine has attended Coda Conferences and Coda events in America, Australia, England, Ireland, Austria, Canada, Kosovo.
